Uuhh, one of my favourites. You might be interested how it was done. You take black velvet as the background. Why velvet? Because it absorbs the light best. Then you take a crystal earth ball and place it on something so that it stands fixed (I took a key ring). For the light I used two flash lights - one with a 'normal' bulb, the other with a blue bulb. The camera was set to a long exposure (about 30 sec). First I took the 'normal' flash light and tried to illuminate the crystal earth ball evenly. Then I turned this flash light off and used the 'blue' flash light to imitate the rings of Saturn. It's working best when the 'blue' flash light hangs on something so that the rings are performed evenly (my 'blue' flash light was a keyring pendant).
